Despite of the problems big entertainment companies have with the internet and free downloading, we see these challenges as great opportunities. More people than ever are enjoying music and performance nowadays and they have a lot of things to choose from. We see it as our goal to provide them with the best entertainment the dance scene has to offer.

Should DJs stay off the mic?

In How to DJ (Properly): The Art and Science of Playing Records, Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton offer some practical advice for DJs hoping to master the microphone. “For certain gigs, including mobile DJing and playing in commercial clubs, talking on the mic is important,” they write. “Some places won’t hire you unless you can do it. Just be yourself and be as relaxed as you can. Try to avoid putting on some kind of fake style.” While beginners would do well to take note of that counsel, what about the biggest DJs in the game? Should the microphone stay switched off, except in the case of dancefloor emergency?

Show me the millions: Skrillex & Tiesto make Forbes power list

It ain’t easy being David Guetta. You sell an avalanche of records, amass 32 million fans on Facebook, tour tirelessly and even build a bridge between white people and black people, and still you can’t make it The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities list alongside Larry the freakin’ Cable Guy.

Sadly, though, that’s how the numbers-crunchers at Forbes have called it. The 2012 list comes with its predictable top-heavy cast – Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and curiously Jennifer Lopez in the #1 spot – but they’ve kept two places for a couple of dance music’s top-earners: Tiesto and Skrillex.
